(ANSA) - BEIJING, June 20 - Russia undermines Saudi Arabia and becomes China's main oil supplier in spite of the US and allied sanctions against Moscow for the aggression of Ukraine.
Beijing's refineries are receiving Russian oil supplies at a steep price discount, pushing the country's imports by 55% per annum in May.
Purchases of Russian oil, including supplies via the Eastern Siberian, Pacific pipeline and sea shipments, totaled nearly 8.42 million tons, according to figures released today by the General Administration of Chinese Customs.
