(ANSA) - ROME, JUN 20 - The "seriousness of the delay in the development of the South" of Italy and of the "southern question", "slows down the entire growth of the national economy".
This was stated by the governor of the Bank of Italy Ignazio Visco in his opening speech at the presentation of the report "The North-South gap: economic development and public intervention", edited by the economists of Bancad'Italia.
The NRP, underlines Visco, "now offers an extraordinary opportunity to attack the factors of the slowdown in the economy and strengthen territorial cohesion".
