The chaos at the airports is only getting worse: two days after we published the news here about the cancellations of many flights across Europe, it was the turn of EasyJet.

The low-cost carrier, which has also been at the heart of flight disruptions in recent months, has now announced that it will cancel more flights this summer than was initially expected.

As is well known, the British company operates quite a few lines to Israel, and it is not yet known how the announcement will affect us.

The international Time Out website states that the company stated that it is trying to take preliminary action in order to "increase flexibility".

Or in simple words: it wants to give its customers as early notice as possible of canceled flights.

This announcement comes amid recent news that both London Gatwick Airport and Amsterdam Schiphol Airport will limit the number of flights this summer.

Now the question arises as to how many flights will indeed be canceled.

Currently, the exact number has not been released.

However, according to the report, EasyJet originally intended to carry out 97 percent of its scheduled flights, and now the number has dropped to about 90 percent.

The airline stated that all customers will be notified in advance, and will have the opportunity to rebook alternative flights within 24 hours of their original booking.

Months of chaos

EasyJet's announcement comes after months of turmoil and chaos at airports across Europe (and especially in the UK), which have caused passengers to face thousands of canceled flights and long queues at airports.

These problems were mainly caused by a shortage of crews, as both airlines and airports laid off many crew members during the Corona plague, and were unable to recruit new workers on time, in a way that would allow them to keep pace with passenger demand.

However, if frustrated about the half-full glass, then at least these flights are canceled in advance and not at the last minute - which means fewer passengers will find themselves stuck at airports or forced to find alternative ways to get to their destination.

In any case, if you have booked a flight for the coming summer with EasyJet, it is more recommended to check the updates related to your booking.
