It happened again: the police in Middle Franconia had to move out to save two four-legged friends from a cruel fate.

When does a car become a death trap?

Nuremberg – The temperatures are rising and one heat wave message follows the next.

While most people cool down by the lake or go to a shady spot during the day and take walks in the cool morning and evening hours, there are others for whom the heat has probably gotten a little to their heads.

They thoughtlessly pack up their dogs and set off - to shop, eat out, or do other things.

Meanwhile, her darlings sit in the parked car and fight for their lives.

"It happened again" - with these sad lines, the officers of the Central Franconia police begin their post on Facebook.

"Last Thursday, our colleagues from the service dog squadron had to go out to rescue dogs from a vehicle parked in the sun." Did you know that you can even be fined if you leave your four-legged friends in the car in the heat?

At first they tried to contact the owner, but when this plan failed, they did not hesitate and "professionally deglazed the windows".

The two Chihuahuas were already showing negative signs - longer hesitation was no longer possible.

The question is also whether you can just smash the windows like that?

But fortunately everything went well with this mission.

Both dogs could be rescued from the "death trap for humans and animals".

Vehicles can heat up to 60 degrees within a few minutes.

Survival is no longer possible here.

The comments are correspondingly angry: "Lord, let your brain rain," scolds one user, while another says "It's really incomprehensible how brainless some people are".

Or: “Thank you to the police for their commitment.

How stupid do you have to be not to get it, not leaving dogs and children in the car.” And someone even demands: “The same discussion every year.

The penalty must be significantly increased for such resistant drivers and dog owners.

Dog trapped in heat car: Dogs sweat down their paws

Dogs only sweat through the pads of their paws – this is where sweat glands are located.

To cool down a little, they start panting – the resulting evaporation process provides some relief.

However, this is far from sufficient for an “oven car”.

Above all, dogs need sufficient water and physical exertion should be avoided.

Time and time again, people underestimate how quickly a car can turn into an oven.

And be careful: the sun is moving: if you parked the car in the shade, it will soon be in the blazing sun.
