Amazon Prime Day in July: This is how consumers get the best bargains

In addition to Black Friday in winter, the online giant Amazon also uses its "Prime Day" to lure customers with bargains.

A few tips will also help.

Kassel – Since its 20th anniversary in 2015, the online mail order company Amazon has held its so-called “Prime Day” every year in July in order to regularly drum up bargains in the summer, in addition to the Christmas and Black Friday business.

The name already says what distinguishes the bargain campaign from the other periods: On “Prime Day” only customers of the premium service Amazon Prime benefit, who for a monthly fee have access to parts of the streaming offer and in many cases free of charge and enables faster shipping.

So it may be worthwhile for precisely these customers to lie in wait for the start of the promotion on July 12 and to wait for the best bargains that are available until midnight on July 13 via the website and app of the shipping giant Amazon .

Anyone who has not yet completed the Prime subscription can also use the time around the bargain day to start a free trial period.

If you don't want to commit yourself in the long term, you should urgently think about canceling the contract in good time.

At the universal retailer Amazon, technical items in particular are often heavily discounted as part of promotions such as Black Friday, Cyber ​​Monday or Prime Day.

Bargain hunting can actually be worthwhile for smartphones and laptops, vacuum robots and coffee machines, televisions and game consoles.

Many insiders also expect that stocks of the highly popular Playstation 5 and X Box Series X consoles could be increased again during Prime Day – albeit not at a reduced price.

Prime Day at Amazon: Play it safe with a price comparison

However, clever bargain hunters already consider in the weeks before which purchases Prime Day could be suitable for and thus play it safe that supposed discounts are really real savings opportunities.

For example, you can use the wish list function to collect the products you want in your Amazon account and get an overview of the prices in advance.

It is not only worth comparing prices with old Amazon prices, but also taking a look at the online shops and on-site displays of the competition.

Because just in time for Amazon's self-proclaimed bargain day, the marketing departments of Media Markt, Saturn, Otto and Co. are of course not lazy either, who often have the same devices as Amazon in their range at very similar or even lower prices.

Amazon Prime Day: The first bargains are available before July 12th and 13th

For those who don't want to wait until Prime Day, a discount campaign started on Tuesday (June 21), with which Amazon wants to give a foretaste of the bargains of "Prime Day" and at the same time encourage customers to do so register for the premium service in advance.

This currently costs EUR 7.99 per month after a free trial period.

Numerous technical items such as smartphones or household appliances, software, clothing, sports equipment and toys are already significantly reduced, at least at first glance.
