Emmanuel Macron "thinks" of building a "national unity government" to find "ways out of the political situation" that has been created in the Assemblée Nationale.
The communist deputy, Fabien Roussel, said this after the day of consultations with the president, to the microphones of the LCI TV.
Macron "asked me if we are ready to work in a government of national unity", explained Roussel, and if this initiative "is the solution to get the country out of the crisis".
"He is thinking of the constitution of a government of national union - said Roussel, after the consultations - if there will be parties to participate".
During the day, Macron's allies had urged the president to form a "grand coalition".
Among these, former premier Edouard Philippe, leader of the Horizons party, which is part of the ruling coalition.
