The poet Patrizia Cavalli died in Rome at the age of 75. Born in Todi in 1947, Cavalli had arrived in the Eternal City in her early twenties. (HANDLE)


(ANSA) - ROME, JUN 21 - Poet Patrizia Cavalli died in Rome at the age of 75.

Born in Todi in 1947, Cavalli had arrived in the Eternal City in her early twenties.

She had her debut in 1974 with 'My poems will not change the world', published by Einaudi, publisher of almost all of her books, which followed in '81 is 'Il cielo' and 'L'io singolare proprio mio' from 1992, brought together in 'Poems (1974-1992).

In 2020 she had entered the five rounds of the Campiello Prize with 'Japanese Steps' (Einaudi. Supercoralli), her first collection of prose with powerful images and moods.


   Pure poetess, whose talent Elsa Morante had recognized, author of books such as 'Pigre divinity and lazy fate', 'Datura' la Cavalli had a great passion for theater as evidenced by 'Semper open theater' from 1999. Her latest collection of poems published from Einaudi is Wonderful Life (Einaudi) released in 2020. (ANSA).
