Two people - a 63-year-old woman and a 62-year-old man - have died from insect bites in the last 48 hours in Vigevano, in the Pavese area, and in Milan.
The woman died, Sunday afternoon, of anaphylactic shock caused by the sting of a wasp: she was a retired municipal employee who knew she was allergic to the insect's poison.
After being stung, she injected herself with the life-saving drug but she went into a coma and rescue was useless.
Same fate - in this case it is not known whether she was a bee or a wasp - for the man yesterday afternoon at the Parco delle Cave in Milan.
He usually took care of a vegetable garden where he collapsed: his friends immediately called for help, but even for him the anaphylactic shock was fatal.
