Cheese recall at Lidl: warning of severe stomach and intestinal diseases - four federal states affected

Lidl has already reacted and cleared the product from the shelf.
Munich – The Spanish brand supplier Goya Europa SLU is recalling its cream cheese “GOYA Queso latino” in the 325 gram pack.
The product was sold to consumers at the discounter Lidl in the federal states of Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Berlin and Brandenburg.
The lot number 061322 and the identity mark ES 15.00283/P CE are affected.
The expiry date June 27, 2022 is printed on the item.

Recall: Lidl takes Goya cheese off the shelf
Listeria monocytogenes was detected in the affected product, according to the company in a customer information.
Listeria monocytogenes can trigger severe stomach and intestinal diseases.
In addition, symptoms of a flu-like infection could occur.
In certain groups of people - babies, small children, pregnant women, the elderly and sick people - this could even lead to serious illnesses.
Because of this risk, customers should be aware of the recall and not consume the affected branded product, the company warns consumers against consuming the cheese.

Product recall: Purchase price will be refunded without receipt
According to the Spanish supplier, the discounter Lidl has already withdrawn the product from sale.
The item can be returned to any Lidl store.
The purchase price will be refunded without presenting the receipt, the customer information goes on to say.
Again and again there are recalls of cheese in the food trade.
Last year, the Federal Institute for Risk Assessment warned against the vegan product from the private label range of the discounter Lidl.
