Although fans strongly criticize "Diablo Immortal" because of the in-game purchases, developer studio Blizzard can be very satisfied with the release.

Diablo Immortal got off to a great start.

The game was released on June 2nd for mobile devices and fans' worst fears came true: Due to the aggressive pay-to-win system, the game received the worst ratings.

This is a shame for many gamers as Diablo Immortal is superbly crafted.

It offers smooth gameplay, nice graphics and controls well implemented for mobile devices.

But despite the positive aspects, the in-game purchases are a big thorn in the side of the players, since at a certain point they are necessary to level up the character or to get better equipment.

The strategy still seems to be working for Blizzard.

A market analyst estimates that the company has already earned $24 million from the game since its release.

Diablo Immortal was installed more than 10 million times in just a few days

The official Diablo Immortal Twitter account posted a few days after the game's release that it was the biggest launch in the series.

It has already been installed over 10 million times

in a short space of time

- bearing in mind that this is a free-to-play title.

However, according to market analyst AppMagic, there are a number of players who purchase content through in-game purchases.

Blizzard has

already raised over $20 million

this way, and that's not even counting the potential revenue and download numbers for the PC version.

The bulk of the money comes from American and South Korean players at 44 and 23 percent respectively.

Blizzard's strategy works - "Diablo" fans are left behind

The $20 million in revenue from Diablo Immortal is

a huge achievement for Blizzard

.

The fact that fans have renamed the game "Diablo Immoral" (immoral) will bother the developers less.

The download numbers and revenue speak for themselves - and over time they will only grow.

The die-hard "Diablo" fans must now hope that "Diablo 4" does not copy too much from "Diablo Immortal".

The next installment in the series is expected to launch in 2023.
