"Stay confident": This is how Ingo Zamperoni always says goodbye at the end of the day's topics. And nothing will change about that. He will also moderate the ARD news program for the next three years.

As reported by the ARD, the contract of the daily topic presenter Ingo Zamperoni has been extended by another three years.

The ARD directors followed a suggestion from the NDR with the extension.

The 47-year-old TV journalist Zamperoni started in 2012 as a permanent representative for the moderation of the Tagesthemen and moved to the ARD studio in Washington in 2014 as a correspondent.

In 2016 he succeeded Thomas Roth and has since moderated the daily topics, alternating with Caren Miosga and Aline Abboud.

And the contracts of the editor-in-chief of ARD-aktuell were also extended by three years until September 30, 2025.

Marcus Bornheim will remain the first editor-in-chief of ARD-aktuell, Helge Fuhst will continue to assume the role of second editor-in-chief and Juliane Leopold will be the editor-in-chief of digital affairs.

The directors of ARD had already agreed on the extensions at their meeting in Saarbrücken in early April 2022 at the suggestion of NDR director Joachim Knuth, and the NDR administrative board has now also agreed.

ARD-aktuell is a joint institution of all nine state broadcasting corporations based at the NDR in Hamburg.

The central newsroom produces the programs Tagesschau, Tagesthemen and Nachtmagazin for Das Erste and the ARD media library.

They are also responsible for the online offers and the social media channels.
