The water is getting colder in Munich's pools: in the outdoor pools in the Bavarian state capital, the minimum temperature in all swimmers' pools has been reduced to around 22 degrees.
This was announced by Stadtwerke München.
So far, the water temperature has usually been around 24 degrees, in one case 27 degrees.
One reason for the measure is the call by Economics Minister Robert Habeck (Greens) to use every opportunity to save energy.
There had already been lower pool temperatures in Munich compared to other pools.
With the renewed reduction, one wants to "make an additional contribution immediately," says the statement.
This applies above all to outdoor pools, as this is where the energy loss is greatest overnight.
In the indoor pools, the temperature in the warm water outdoor pool is reduced from the current maximum of 34 to 30 degrees.
However, there will be exceptions: In the attraction pools and small children's areas of the outdoor pools, in which separate temperature control is technically possible, the temperature will remain as usual.
Elsewhere, some pools had already lowered the temperature in some pools a few weeks ago because of a feared gas supply stop - in Bavaria, among others, in Regensburg, in Würzburg and in Höchstadt an der Aisch in Central Franconia.
