But not in the way you think (Photo: Giphy)
Quite a few people have slept much less well in recent weeks, and the reason for this is not necessarily the stress from rising prices or the return of the corona, but the heat prevailing outside.
A simple trick that includes a fan and an open window can open the problem for you.
But not in the way you probably think.
All you need is a stand fan that can be placed in front of an open window.
But instead of pointing the fan in your direction, the trick involves turning it so that it faces out through the open window.
It may sound counterintuitive to keep the fan away from the body, but according to eco-design consultant Nelson Levo, it is "the best, cheapest and most effective technique to keep the house cool."

How do you do that?
Nelson, who is originally from the US, told the Daily Telegraph that the method works by blowing the hot air out of the house and drawing cool air in. He said the fan should be placed on the window only after sunset, when the temperature outside starts to get cooler He added: "Everyone knows about the importance of air movement in the house and cross ventilation, but it only works when the wind is blowing and even then it works best when there is a direct path for the wind to blow through the house.
What the fan does is force air movement inside the house, even when the wind is not blowing.
"
"This method is much more economical because fans use much less electricity than air conditioners and is healthier for muscles that can be caught if you aim the fan directly at you at night."
"The standard way of cooling with a fan is simply pushing the hot air around the room, but we think it cools us down because moving air feels more pleasant and cooler than standing air," he says.
"My technique of ventilation, which forces air movement from outside, actually cools the air inside the house by drawing air that is cooled for free by nature - because it is right outside starting in the late afternoon."
