Smiling and ready to take the first written test for
high school graduation
,
Willy Gnonto
, an eighteen-year-old striker of the Italian national football team, arrived in Busto Arsizio in the province of Varese, to take the Italian test at the 'Marco Pantani' sports science high school.
It is the same school in which, in 2018, two other athletes took the final exams, the swimmer
Nicolò Martinenghi
, world champion in Budapest in the 100 breaststroke, and
Matteo Gabbia
, defender of AC Milan tricolor.
"For my parents it has always been important to keep me going with school and I would like to give them a reason to be proud of everything they have done for me," said the young player before entering the school.
Gnonto prepared the exams as a privatist, during the championship "I studied a lot - he said - carving out moments during the retreats even if it was difficult, for me to finish this path is important".
"I am rested - he added - I hope it will go well even if I fear math" then he concluded: "For a game maybe I am calmer, because it is what I like best and I do better".
