The Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Environmental Protection inform the traveling public and the regional and local councils of exceptional results in water sampling carried out to examine the state of pollution in certain streams in the north.
Tests for bacteria in samples from June 20, 2022, found in several streams in the north results that deviate from the recommendations of the Ministry of Health (400 fecal ultrasound per 100 ml) - a result indicating the presence of contamination in the water
. The streams in which water pollution is found:
•
Snir (Hasbani): Roman bridge - 800; downhill hydroelectric station - 600; estuary to Jordan - 800.
• El Al (black waterfall) - 2,500.
• Jordan: Gesher Yosef - 1,000; Bridge of the Five - 700 ; Flames Bridge - 1,200; Khuri Bridge - 1,200;
Ateret side 1,300; Aunts' Bridge - 470; Arik Bridge - 900.
• Zaki - 700.

The source of the pollution was not found in the streams
In light of these results, entry into the following streams may be dangerous until the resulting sampling results are normal and stable:
• Snir (Hasbani) - from the Roman bridge to the estuary to Jordan
• Jordan River from Yosef Bridge to Arik Bridge
• El Al River
• Zaki
• Nahal Zalmon - Flour Mill
• Nahal Kziv - Ein Haredlit
Except for Nahal Snir (Hasbani) where high values were measured already at the point of entry into Israel, the Ministry of Environmental Protection did not find a known source of pollution in the streams.
The sampling for water quality in several streams in the north is carried out from a sample every two weeks, at fixed sampling points representing a waterfall, pond or section of the stream, using the inspectors of the Nature and Parks Authority.
The Ministries of Health and Environmental Protection continue to sample and monitor, and will update later as needed.
