The federal government's relief package includes a one-off payment of 100 euros per child.

What do you have to do to get the child bonus of 100 euros?
Nothing. The child bonus does not have to be applied for separately
, it is automatically paid out by the family benefits office to families with children.
Anyone who has a
newborn
for which child benefit has not yet been paid must submit a
written application for child benefit
to the local
family benefits office of the Federal Employment Agency
.
Then you also get the child bonus.
Likewise, children who are still born this year are entitled to the child bonus
.
If you have applied for child benefit for your newborn child in 2022, the child bonus will be paid to you automatically in 2022.
In certain cases, child benefit and child bonus for newborn children are paid together.

Who does not benefit from the 100 euro child bonus?
Although the parents' income plays no role in the payment of the child bonus,
top earners should not benefit from the one-time child bonus

Like child benefit, the child bonus does not constitute taxable income, but it must also be entered in the child annex of the tax return.
Because in the income tax assessment, the child bonus is taken into account together with the child benefit in the lower tax assessment by the tax office.
