There were two accidents in Cologne on Wednesday evening – both of which involved the same tram.
First, the train collided with a car driver, the police said – and then only two minutes after the restart with a cyclist.
Both women were reportedly unharmed.
The first collision happened when a 35-year-old driver illegally turned on the tracks.
The driver was not injured, according to the information, the car was a total loss.
The tram driver was replaced with a backup driver after the incident.
Shortly thereafter, the same train collided with a 28-year-old cyclist who was crossing the tracks on red.
The cyclist was also unharmed, police said.
The train driver suffered shock and was taken to the hospital.
Another replacement driver was then used.
