Health Minister Brigitte Bourguignon called on Thursday to step up vaccination against Covid-19 with the campaign for the second booster dose for the elderly and immunocompromised.
“Vaccination remains the most useful weapon, and I am addressing the oldest people, the immunocompromised.
I appeal to this vaccination which must be maintained, supported, ”explained the minister during a trip to the field in Paris.
The call comes as the campaign for the second booster dose is slipping.
It was opened on March 14 to over 80s and nursing home residents, then on April 7 to 60-79 year olds.
The immunocompromised can, for their part, receive a second "booster" since the very beginning of the year.
Bourguignon wants "citizen responsibility to be there"
At the start of the 7th epidemic wave, the Minister of Health also called on the French to take responsibility.
She thus asks that “citizen responsibility be there” for barrier gestures and the wearing of a mask in particular.
