(ANSA) - BRUSSELS, JUN 23 - Italy, Bulgaria, Portugal, Romania and Slovakia have presented a document proposing to postpone the elimination of combustion engines from 2035 to 2040 and to reduce CO2 emissions by 90% (instead of 100% as proposed by the European Commission and the European Parliament) in 2035.
The document was circulated in view of the meeting of the EU Environment Council scheduled for Tuesday 28. From what has been learned, Italy has joined the initiative with the specific objective of obtaining changes to the text under examination on commercial vehicles, biofuels and niche productions.
