A World War II bomb has been discovered near Günzburg.
The Autobahn 8 and the Legoland amusement park were blocked in order to blow up the bomb in a controlled manner, as reported by SWR.
The forces expect major disabilities because of the road closures.
Road users should therefore avoid the area extensively.
According to SWR, the bomb came from a Wehrmacht ammunition depot that used to be on what is now Legoland.
The Americans blew up the camp after the war, apparently throwing the bomb several hundred meters across the field.
According to the information, it no longer has an igniter, but it is still dangerous because explosive crystals have formed due to long storage.
Therefore, the experts cannot remove the bomb but have to detonate it in a controlled manner.
