(ANSA) - WASHINGTON, JUN 22 - The police chief of the Uvalde school district Pedro Arredondo was put in jail as part of the investigation into the response of the agents to the massacre in the elementary school of the Texas town which saw the massacre of 19 children and two teachers .
Arredondo was leading the agents who arrived at the Robb Elementary minutes after the killer.
He and his men are accused of a series of grave errors, "a despicable failure" as the head of the Texas police department called it.
