But after a few minutes the boy is out of breath.
Elias is obese, he has gained a lot of weight, especially in the last two years.
In a children's clinic in the Allgäu he should lose weight.
"I'm here because I'm gaining more and more weight and I don't lose enough weight even when I exercise." He wants to lose at least one kilo a week.
Every sixth child gained weight during the pandemic, and among ten to twelve-year-olds it was even every third child.
»When the soul suffers, it affects the whole body.
This is a phenomenon that we call post-lockdown," says Maike Pellarin-Schlingensiepen, head of the Prinzregent Luitpold rehabilitation clinic in Scheidegg.
