A small plane has crashed while flying over Mont Blanc in France.
The wreck of the machine that had been missing since the previous day was discovered on Friday at an altitude of 2,600 meters in the middle of a glacier, the prefecture in Annecy said.
The crew of a helicopter discovered the debris in the morning, the broadcaster BFM reported.
The two occupants were killed.
As the newspaper "Le Parisien" reported, it was a flight instructor and his student.
According to the prefecture, the machine started in Albertville on Thursday for a flight over the highest mountain in the Alps.
When the machine went missing in the afternoon, a major search operation began.
According to the BFM, it was initially interrupted during the night until daybreak due to difficult weather conditions.
The cause of the crash should now be clarified with an investigation.
