Heinrich Schütz emerges from purgatory in Evian

A brilliant precursor of Bach, the composer who died 350 years ago is honored at the concerts of Les Arts Florissants at the Grange au lac, where the ensemble was in residence.


In view of the very official celebrations of the bicentenary of César Franck and the centenary of Iannis Xenakis, it must be recognized that the 350 years of the death of Heinrich Schütz have passed relatively unnoticed on this side of the Rhine!

However, the one that all of Germany has never ceased to celebrate all year long deserves to be rediscovered.

And not just by lovers of baroque music.
