To study them in depth, the largest study conducted so far on the subject and published in the journal 'The Lancet Child & Adolescent Health'.



Researchers from Copenhagen University Hospital included children aged 0-14 who had had a positive swab between January 1, 2020 and July 12, 2021, and a control group in the study.

They then gave the families a questionnaire with questions on the 23 typical symptoms of long Covid.

The answers obtained from 10,997 confirmed cases and 33,016 who had never had the disease show that the under 14 of the first group were more likely to manifest long-term disorders and on average they lasted for more than 2 months.

In particular, between 0 and 3 years, 40% of those who had had Covid showed symptoms, compared to 27% of those who had not had it, and the most frequent disorders were mood swings, skin rashes and stomach pain. .

In the 4-11 age group they were 38% compared to 34% and mainly reported mood swings, difficulty concentrating, skin rashes.

While, among the 12-14 year olds, 46% of those who had Covid and 41% of the control group had had symptoms and, in this case, it was mostly fatigue, mood swings and difficulty concentrating. .
