(ANSA) - ROME, JUN 24 - "Over 1,000" Ukrainian soldiers were killed and another 800 surrendered in the last two days in the battle between the forces of Kiev on one side and the Russian troops and the Lugansk self-proclaimed public on the other near Lisichansk in eastern Ukraine.
This was stated by a source from the pro-Russian Republic of Lugansk quoted by the Tass agency.
According to the source, the Ukrainian losses occurred in particular in fighting between the localities of Groskoye and Zolotye, south of Lisichansk, which were snatched from the Ukrainians.
