The Fantastischen Vier played their first of two Munich concerts on Königsplatz on Friday: 20,000 fans celebrated a hip-hop party in the constant rain.

The fans were impressed: "Munich, we bow to you!".

Our night review:

Dark clouds, raindrops, wind - and fanfares.

At 8:22 p.m. sharp on Friday (June 24, 2022), the curtain rose on Königsplatz and there they were: Thomas D., Smudo, Andy, Michi.

The Fantastischen Vier opened their concert full of energy like in the old days with "MfG - yours sincerely".

Shortly afterwards her "What's up?" with a typical hip-hop wink and a tempo in raps and moves that would make many a young hopper run out of breath.

And in front of them 20,000 dancing and jumping rain jackets and capes.

The concert – sold out.

Nobody seemed to care about the rain.

"Do you know how proud we are of you?" Smudo later called out to the cheering crowd while the boys rubbed themselves dry with towels.

The wet also pressed into the stage.

“Who needs tropical temperatures?

You guys are real picnickers!” he introduced the next hit.

Smudo on Königsplatz: "Do you know how proud we are of you?"

A short break with the quieter "Day at the Sea", while in the background on huge LED walls chilled nature shots alternated with close-ups of the musicians.

Then full throttle again with booming beats with "Mach dich frei".

For a good two years, the fans and also the fantasists had been waiting for the anniversary bash “Forever 30 Years Live”, which was due and repeatedly postponed due to the annoying virus.

Now the forever young kepi and bomber jacket wearers have landed in Munich for two days.

And where do the uncrowned kings of German hip-hop belong in Munich?

Sure, on the Königsplatz.

On Saturday, June 25, 2022, we'll get down to business again.

In order to get the fans up to party temperature for the fantasies, DJ Thomilla, Flo Mega and the chilled gentleman announced in advance - they created a good atmosphere from 5.45 p.m.

By the way, it was still dry then.

Smudo (54), Michi Beck (54), Thomas D. (53) and And.Ypsilon (54) naturally had all the relevant Fanta hits from 30 years of band history in their luggage between funny banter: In addition to "Die da?!", " She's gone", "Give us the blame" and "Simply be", among other things, "Together" from the 2018 album Captain Fantastic was also in the set list.

Mega party in the rain with the Fantastischen Vier

It's now 30 years since the Fantas became famous overnight in autumn 1992 with their first hit "Die da?!".

In the period after their rapid commercial start, the quartet took off their brightly colored clothes and successfully played themselves free with songs like "Tag am Meer" and "Sie ist weg".

In 1999 her celebrated number 1 album 4:99 followed with the current opener hit MfG.

So far, the Fantas have released ten studio albums, four of which have reached number one in the German album charts.

They also won several Echos, the Golden Camera and various other prizes.

Probably no other formation has shaped German rap as much as Fanta 4. What began in the late 1980s has become a music project that has been celebrated for decades, with millions of records sold and hundreds of live concerts.

Understandable,

that the quartet wanted to celebrate its anniversary: with a tour through Germany, Austria and Switzerland in 2020. Then the annoying virus intervened.

And now this mega party!
