The news, not expected, is no longer devastating.
As a preliminary matter, note the extraordinary politicization of the hyperconservative perspective of the matter.
The US Supreme Court ruling overturns
Roe v. Wade
, which allowed abortion.
At the heart of the matter, what is being destroyed is a fundamental right of women that allows us to have control over our bodies and motherhood.
Badly, bordering on the impossible, it is possible to be citizens, workers and mothers at the same time if the autonomy of our decision and our own calendar is not at the start of these three circumstances.
Almost all issues related to the integrity of our body, which is an important part of our dignity and our Human Rights, are involved in debates of a moral nature, when what is involved is articulating the freedom of use or not. of the right to the voluntary interruption of pregnancy, to realize another greater freedom that is to be mothers or not to be.
No comment is necessary to identify all this with a setback in the rights and freedoms of women, a product of the ultra-conservative wave that we are experiencing.
It goes beyond a lap with clear macho edges and ends up including some other debates and positions of misogyny.
It is very difficult to understand that a court with an overwhelming majority of men annuls such a fundamental right for the autonomy and freedom of women that, as is known, brings as a consequence the inequality that separates rich women from poor women to resolve these issues in underground and at the risk of their own lives.
Once again, the right to voluntary interruption of pregnancy is the objective of the ultra-conservative wave and, with it, the degradation of the full citizenship of women incompatible with current democratic societies.
