"You don't know me", a new BBC One series broadcast by Netflix in France since last weekend, has been firmly established in the top 10 of the most viewed series of the moment on the platform for a week.
Adapted from the novel of the same name written in 2017 by Imran Mahmoud, it tells the story of a young man, Hero, in the middle of a murder trial.
He then uses his pleading to tell his love story with Kyra, a woman full of mysteries.
Guilty, not guilty?
The viewers are placed in the rank of the jurors, we must judge this man.
The mini-series is made up of four episodes directed by Sarmad Masud, who films housing estates around London.
Accompanied by a rich and diversified soundtrack that highlights the sentimental state of our heroes, the series goes from amorous stroll to anguish through twists and turns that will keep you in suspense and will surely make you devour its episodes of a milking.
Samuel Adewunmi delivers an incredible performance
How this promising young man got here.
This is the key question of the series which rests on the shoulders of comedian Samuel Adewunmi, who delivers an incredible performance, allowing us to feel empathy for this character who does not only make good choices.
The secondary cast is also excellent, especially Sophie Wilde playing Kyra who is the trigger for all her adventures.
As usual, the BBC signs an original series with an impeccable script that will not leave you unmoved and will surely hang on your sofa.
If we wanted to quibble, we could talk about the fact that it is very unlikely that an accused has the right to so much oral freedom during his trial, but the process allows for an original and tasty staging, reinforcing the stress of the spectator.
If you thought you had the end of the story, know already that you know nothing.
