“L'Oubliée d'Amboise”, “Murders in the Morvan”, “Tandem”… Are there too many thrillers on France Télévisions?

A study by the Union of Directors and Directors points to a large percentage of detective fiction on the advertising service channels


"The Forgotten Amboise" on France 3 this Saturday, June 25, "Murders in the Morvan" the day before.

A glance at next week's program schedule – with “Tandem”, “Faux-semblants”, “La Trainee”, “Criminal Tropics” – confirms: on France Télévisions, crime seems to pay.

A study recently published by the Union des Réalisatrices et Réalisateurs (U2R) points to the preponderant share of the detective genre on public channels.

An observation that the Conseil Supérieur de l'Audiovisuel (CSA, which has since become Arcom) already made in 2019 "despite the efforts made to diversify the subjects addressed".

According to the U2R, last year, 85% of thrillers were broadcast on the public service.
