744 students in mathematics tests within the second phase of the Youth Olympiad

Today, 744 male and female students from the seventh and eighth grades of basic education competed in mathematics tests within the second phase of the Science Olympiad for Youth in Mathematics and Science for the year 2022, which is held by the Excellence and Creativity Authority.

The tests were conducted at the same time in the specified centers within the universities in the various governorates, and included questions and questions to measure the skills of logical analysis and mathematical thinking within scientific concepts inspired by the scientific themes adopted in the Syrian Scientific Olympiad and suitable for this age group.

Malik Hammoud, the media advisor at the Excellence and Creativity Authority, said in a statement to SANA, "With the mathematics specialty exams, the competitions for the second phase of the Youth Olympiad have reached their last stop, after the biology, physics and chemistry exams were completed during the past two weeks, and preparations are being made to qualify for the final qualifiers to determine the first on the Syria's level in each of the three specializations of the 2022 Math and Science Olympiad.

It is noteworthy that the Excellence and Creativity Commission launched the Scientific Olympiad for Youth in Mathematics and Science on March 14, 2021 with the aim of early detection of the talents of specialized scientific excellence starting from the basic education stage and developing the skills of adolescents in mathematics and science to be able to participate in the Syrian Scientific Olympiad competitions for secondary school students and to represent Syria in global competitions.
