Dance in art in Pietrasanta

PIETRASANTA (LUCCA) - Twelve shows and a dozen extemporaneous dance events en plein air, in the churchyard of the Cathedral, on the pier of Marina di Pietrasanta and among the streets and squares of the city.

It is Dap festival, Danza in arte in Pietrasanta (Lucca), from 26 June to 9 July, with choreographers, companies and dancers from all over the world explains Adria Ferrali, student of Martha Graham, choreographer and teacher, creator of Dap with Sebastian Kloborg , choreographer and dancer of the Royal Danish Theater: "The festival facilitates experimentation and choreographic research by enhancing the development of a production alongside the most famous masters of world sculpture, this guarantees the stabilization of an inviting cultural space for choreographers and dancers of all over the world.

    The 2022 edition marks a collaboration with maestro Kan Yasuda: his work 'Unconscius', created by Studio Giorgio Angeli, will be the scenography of the Grand Gala on 9 July at the Versiliana Theater.

The departure on June 27 in Piazza Duomo in Pietrasanta with 'West Side Story' on choreography by Francesco Curci and with the dancers of the Cannes Jeune Ballet Rosella Hightower;

to follow, twelve contemporary dance companies will perform at the Versiliana and in the Cloister of Sant'Agostino in Pietrasanta, with dancers from Denmark, Norway, France, Slovenia, Spain, USA, India, Israel, Japan.

Among the guest companies MM Contemporary Dance Company, Spellbound Contemporary Ballet, La Veronal, Shahar Binyamini, Saltmarsh Dance, Subjazz, Balance Dinamico Dance Company.

    On the occasion of the Pietrasanta festival it will also host the exhibition 'Breathe.

Yinon Gal-On ', set up in the Sala delle Grasce from 25 June to 17 July, which brings the Israeli artist and photographer's underwater works to Versilia for the first time.

Works that will be at the center of the laser projections on the Duomo on 2 July when Pietrasanta will be a large theater crossed by dancers who will give life to several shows.
