(ANSA) - MOSCOW, JUN 25 - The clashes between the Russians and the Ukrainians intensify in Lugansk.
The pro-Moscow separatists have announced that in Lysychansk there is "fighting in the streets".
The twin city of Severodonetsk on the opposite bank of the Donets River is considered by the Russians as a strategic goal to conquer the entire region.
"The People's Militia of the Lugansk People's Republic and the Russian army have entered the city of Lysychansk," said a representative of pro-Russian separatists, Lieutenant Colonel Andrei Marochko on Telegram.
"Some parts of the city have already been taken. Now there is street fighting," he added.
Yesterday Kiev ordered Ukrainian troops to withdraw from the twin city of Severodonetsk, as it could no longer be defended.
