At least 27 and not 18, as officially announced, would be the migrants who died yesterday in the crowd trying to enter the Spanish enclave of Melilla.
The complaint comes from two NGOs: the Spanish Caminando Fronteras, and the Moroccan Association of Human Rights, according to which there are also hundreds of injured, both among migrants and among Moroccan law enforcement officers.
Prime Minister Sanchez speaks of "a violent and organized assault" against Melilla, the responsibility of "mafias that trade with human beings" and thanked the Spanish and Moroccan security forces for their "extraordinary work".
Amnesty International expresses "great concern" at what happened and calls for "an independent investigation".
