A 14-year-old died in a parachute jump at the Eisenach-Kindel airfield in Thuringia.
The teenager crashed on Saturday morning in tandem with a 46-year-old companion, the police said.
The man survived and was flown to the hospital in a rescue helicopter.
According to the investigation, the parachutist and the 14-year-old jumped together at an altitude of around 4,000 meters.
That's a normal jump height.
When they landed, both staggered for an unknown reason and fell onto a meadow on the airfield site.
The 14-year-old died at the scene of the accident.
The police have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident.
