(ANSA) - WASHINGTON, June 25 - Seven US states have banned abortion immediately after the Supreme Court ruling which abolished it at the federal level, another seven will do so in the next 30 days.
These are republican-led states that had already enacted very severe restrictions on the interruption of pregnancy, but there are in all 26 those in which abortion could be banned forever.
In Kentucky, Louisiana and South Dakota, the abortion ban went into effect immediately after the Supreme Court ruled, while in Arkansas, Missouri and Oklahoma a few hours later following official prosecutors' certification.
In Alabama, after the decision of the justices maximum, a court declared valid a ban that had been blocked.
Also in North Dakota and Utah the ban will enter into force after the green light of the state authorities which, it is foreseen, will arrive in the next few days.
In Mississippi and Wyoming, it will take longer: Mississippi will ban abortion 10 days after the attorney general declares constitutional law and in Wyoming five days after the governor certifies that the Roe ruling has been revoked.
In Idaho,
Meanwhile, the flow of demonstrators in front of the Supreme Court in Washington does not stop.
Denver, Atlanta, Chicago and Philadelphia are some of the cities where demonstrations are taking place.
But even in Austin, Texas, one of the states where an extremely restrictive law on abortion is already in force and which is going to permanently ban it in the next few days.
At the moment, all the demonstrations are taking place peacefully even where - as in the American capital - pro-life demonstrators who celebrate the sentence have taken place alongside pro-abortion demonstrators.
