According to the signatories, a political crisis could jeopardize this fundamental right acquired by French women in 1975.

It is a reaction to the violent decision of the American Supreme Court to remove one of the fundamental social rights of the country.

For fear that the right to abortion will also be jeopardized in France, more than 400 lawyers have signed a column published this Sunday in the JDD.

Supported by Karen Noblinski, Julie Couturier, Vincent Nioré, Rachel-Flore Pardo, the text calls for the inclusion of the right to abortion in the French Constitution to "protect women's rights".

A will already issued by LREM and the Nupes carry two bills to "engrave this achievement in stone" of the Constitution.

Masters Monique Antoine and Gisèle Halimi, the first secretary of the PSU Michel Rocard leave the Bobigny court on November 22, 1972, following the verdict in the case of the clandestine abortion of Marie-Claire, 17, pregnant at following a rape.

“The recent legislative elections remind us that political balances are fragile, and that this law could one day be threatened,” they warn.

The signatories claim: "Nothing is more urgent than to strengthen this right by enshrining it in the Constitution!"

(…) This is why we, lawyers, call without further delay for the inclusion of the right to abortion in the French Constitution, to prevent anyone from hindering the right of women to dispose of their bodies.
