(ANSA-AFP) - QUITO, JUN 26 - The president of Ecuador Guillermo Lasso has lifted the state of emergency in relation to the protests of the indigenous people, which in recent days have resulted in five deaths and over 200 injuries.
The government is working to initiate a dialogue with the demonstrators.
The state of emergency had been in effect for a week in six provinces - Chimborazo, Tungurahua, Cotopaxi, Pichincha, Pastaza and Imbabura - particularly affected by protests against high prices.
