Should we be worried about the first case of monkeypox in a child?

Three experts - in infectiology, virology and pediatrics - are helping us to see things more clearly after the detection of a first case of smallpox


The child is fine, shows “no sign” of seriousness.

After the announcement this Saturday evening of the first case of monkeypox in a minor - and another probable case in his siblings - the authorities want to be reassuring about the state of health of the schoolboy, attending primary school in the Island- of France.

Since its detection on French soil on May 20, monkeypox (the other name of the disease) had only affected adults, at least 330.
