This morning, the second semester exams began at Damascus University for the academic year 2021-2022 and will continue for about a month.
According to Dr. Muhammad Osama Al-Jabban, President of Damascus University, about 150 thousand students in various academic levels in the university’s faculties and institutes in the city of Damascus and its branches in the governorates of Daraa, Sweida and Quneitra, indicating in a statement to SANA that the university completed its preparations and prepared early for the launch of exams in all faculties, where it was instructed to Announcing exam schedules two weeks before their start and providing all supplies inside the classrooms.
According to the president of the university, the deans of faculties and heads of departments stressed the need to adhere to the objective question examination system and to apply technical specifications for the examination paper in accordance with the approved standards that determine the content and form of the examination question paper, and that the questions be clear and give sufficient time for each exam, as well as stressing the faculty members to be present in the halls. To answer students’ inquiries and questions, solve any problem that arises, correct the examination papers and not delay in issuing the results.
He explained that the exam paper should include comprehensive, objective and clear questions that do not tolerate different interpretations and are linked to the objectives and topics of the course and based on understanding, application, analysis and thinking and preparing them in a way that allows measuring various and multiple levels of student performance and that the number of questions in the exam paper is proportional to the time allotted for the exam.
The university president called on students to fully abide by the examination instructions issued by the university and to pay attention not to be involved in committing violations to ensure the smooth running of the examination process and not to be subjected to penalties that could affect their academic achievement in the future.
