How will you extend the life of the lettuce?
(@miseenplace_au)
An Australian expert on order and savings has come up with an idea of how to extend the life expectancy of your lettuce in the refrigerator and this is especially important for Israelis - since its price is skyrocketing in the meantime.
The consumer price index showed a rise of 4.1% in June, with the main figure leading to an increase in fruit prices, which rose by 13.8%.
In the past year, the prices of fruits and vegetables have risen by 2.2% according to the consumer price index, and since 2010 prices have jumped by 30% in the food price index and by 15% in the general price index.
Therefore, any option to save - even a few shekels, is welcome.
Anita Birgs, who heads a company that organizes and arranges the house, recommended detaching the lettuce core and wrapping the rest of the head in aluminum foil before putting the leaves in the refrigerator.
She says this trick is one that everyone must know and posted it on her popular Instagram and ticketing pages.

"If you want to extend the life of your lettuce and make a salad in a second, this trick is for you," Anita said at the beginning of the video.
Although the lettuce core needs to be removed, the operation does not require the use of a knife.
"First toss your lettuce down on a cutting board and then lightly remove the core," Anita said, adding, "Wrap the lettuce in aluminum foil before placing it in the fridge and it will survive there longer."

The video garnered hundreds of thousands of views across the various platforms with thousands of people responding and thanking Anita for her tips.
"I wrap my lettuce in a paper towel, it works great too," one respondent added and two noted, "I use aluminum foil for celery as well, it's good for most green leaves."
Tuesday concluded: "This trick is great. I tried it and had fresh lettuce even after two weeks."
