Although Turkey has emerged as a friend to Israel's help in thwarting Iranian terrorist threats in recent weeks, it has not forgotten to continue its tourism cooperation with its eastern neighbor, Iran.
The director general of the Tehran Tourism and Heritage Council, Farham Jafneshan, announced last weekend that a meeting aimed at developing tourism cooperation with the Kurdish Batman district in Turkey, not far from the Iranian border, was initiated and attended by the Iranian Tourism Services Association.
Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Hussein Amir Abdullahian is scheduled to visit Turkey today (Monday), with his talks focusing on the attempts by the Iranian squads to attack Israelis staying in Turkey.

"Cultural, historical and natural attractions"
The Tasnim news agency reports that the meeting, which was attended by both government officials and private sector officials in Batman province in Turkey, was intended for mutual acquaintance between the two sides, with an emphasis on the potential for cooperation.
"The capabilities of the Tehran province are reflected in the export of handicrafts, especially in everything related to glass items, as well as in everything related to cultural, historical and natural attractions that will attract tourists from Batman province," the Iranian official said.
"Within two days, invited guests from Batman District were introduced to Tehran District's most important tourist attractions, and various investment opportunities."
"Batman is one of the largest provinces in Turkey, with many historical and natural attractions," said Hormatula Refai, president of the Iranian Tourism Services Association.
"Setting a new tourist destination on a route that includes Tehran, Isfahan and Shiraz was one of the goals of the meeting."
