(ANSA) - ROME, June 27 - A package containing gunpowder and wires, addressed to Leonardo's managing director, Alessandro Profumo, arrived today in the company's correspondence office in Rome and was deactivated by the police bomb squad.
The sender appears to be from a law firm and investigators are investigating.
Leonardo has a security procedure on incoming correspondence, which is carefully checked.
The checks on the parcel revealed the presence of gunpowder; the area was therefore immediately made safe in anticipation of the arrival of the bomb squads who defused the order on the spot without letting it explode.
In this way it will be possible to carry out all subsequent investigations on the material that has been seized.
