Former defense minister Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg, 50, has a contract with the RTL television company for two documentaries.
They are working together on "high-end documentaries for the RTL + streaming service," said a statement from the private broadcaster.
»Zu Guttenberg will lead through two 90-minute docutainment programs as moderator and interviewer.
These will be added to the program later this year," it said.
When asked, RTL initially did not want to give any details about the content.
Zu Guttenberg resigned as Minister of Defense in 2011 because of a plagiarism scandal.
The CSU politician had largely copied his doctoral thesis from other authors and did not mark it.
Most recently, he was in the public eye because of the Wirecard scandal. As Minister of Economics, he had campaigned for the company's market entry in China.
