A 31-year-old resident of a refugee accommodation on Lake Constance is said to have stabbed several people and killed a man.
At least five people were injured in the knife attack late Sunday evening, some seriously, police and prosecutors said.
The crime happened in Kressbronn.
The resident is said to have knocked on the room doors shortly before 10 p.m.
After opening, he stabbed those present.
One man died at the scene from his injuries.
A seriously injured person was flown to the hospital in a rescue helicopter.
Four other injured were taken to a hospital by ambulance.
Background initially unclear
The officers arrested the alleged perpetrator without resistance in front of the accommodation.
His motive and further background of the act were initially unclear.
According to police, it is still unclear whether other people were injured.
The securing of evidence lasted until the early hours of the morning.
