The Berlin summer pool in Neukölln was long considered the most notorious outdoor pool in the capital.

Scuffles, stabbings and threats were part of the daily routine at times.

Recently, the situation in the swimming pool seemed to have improved significantly.

But now the police are reporting another major operation in the bathroom.

On Sunday afternoon, according to a message, the officers were called to the Columbiabad for dangerous bodily harm.

According to this, there was an argument at around 5:15 p.m. when queuing at the water slide.

A 21-year-old woman and her companion had been sprayed with a water pistol by children.

Shortly thereafter, a “man between the ages of 35 and 40” joined the argument.

According to the police, the 21-year-old man held the water pistol in front of his head again and pulled the trigger.

The victim spat at him, he struck with the toy gun and broke her nose.

While the officers recorded the incident, the next tumult was already forming.

60 police officers involved in the operation

The officials were "harassed by up to 250 bathers," the police said.

Even instructions from the outdoor pool staff could apparently no longer ensure order.

The outdoor pool management finally decided to completely close the pool for the day.

Some guests objected to this as well.

The situation only calmed down when other emergency services arrived.

When asked by SPIEGEL, the police said that a total of 60 police officers were involved in the operation.

The investigations into, among other things, dangerous bodily harm and breach of the peace are ongoing.
