(ANSA) - ROME, JUN 27 - Boom of foreign tourists in June in cities of art and villages, so much so as to exceed the data of 2019, the last year before the pandemic.
This was revealed by an investigation conducted by Cna Tourism and Commerce among its associates throughout Italy, according to which over nine million foreign tourists arrived in Italy in June, almost 800,000 more than in 2019.
Six million European vacationers, three million extra-Europeans.
Germany, France, Spain, Austria, Holland, United States of America, Canada, Japan are the countries from which the greatest number of tourists arriving in our country from abroad come.
Overnight stays also increased in June.
Two-thirds of tourists from across the border preferred hotel facilities, the remainder mostly preferred to stay in bed & breakfasts and agritourisms.
Cities and art villages have been by far the preferred destinations for foreign tourists.
Rome, Venice, Milan, Florence and Naples alone have attracted four million and passes.
