Roses need a lot of nutrients.
But organic fertilizers are also suitable – horn shavings, horse manure and beer are particularly productive.
They are considered the queen of flowers: roses are pretty and inspire people as well as insects with their fragrant aroma.
But as heavy feeders, roses will wilt if you don't fertilize them properly.
Or they don't grow properly at all.
However, you should keep your distance from chemical fertilizers.

Not only a partially shaded location and a regular pruning is a must for roses - the flowers from the family of the plants of the same name place equally high demands on their food.
In addition to daily water on hot summer days, correct fertilization is crucial.
The following organic fertilizers have proven to be extremely effective:
horn shavings
Beer
wood ash
Teabag
eggshells
Horn shavings consist mainly of animal protein and are obtained from the crushed horn of slaughtered cattle.
What may sound slightly gross is extremely effective for roses.
The practical thing about the shavings: they do not affect the soil climate and naturally supply roses with nitrogen.
Indoor and potted plants are not suitable for the use of horn shavings.
The hops and malt contained in beer have a positive effect on roses.
However, you should mix the alcoholic beverage with two parts water before pouring it.
Home remedies for fertilizing roses: inexpensive and good
While wood ash is not a suitable fertilizer for lawns, roses can benefit from the calcium it contains.
However, the decisive factor is the wood: it should definitely be untreated and come from local forests.
Air pollution as well as varnishing or glazing have no place in wood for fertilizer.
Egg shells are particularly calcareous and neutralize acidic soils.
Coffee grounds are also suitable as rose fertilizer.
With all organic fertilizers, it is important not to overdose, but to approach it carefully.
But valuable ingredients are also contained in the tea grounds, only in lower doses than in the coffee grounds.
Simply hang the used black or green tea bags in the irrigation water for a few hours.
When watering, you should make sure that the water also reaches the roots of the lower layer of soil and that the water does not simply remain on the surface.
