The rapper Machine Gun Kelly has become an internationally acclaimed star with his mix of hip-hop and rock.

And the 32-year-old was apparently mentally ill for a long time.

At one point he had a loaded shotgun in his mouth, says the musician, whose real name is Colson Baker, in the recently released documentary »Machine Gun Kelly's Life in Pink«.

According to this, Baker went through a difficult time, especially in July 2020 after the death of his father.

The loss threw him off track in his battle with depression and drug abuse, the 32-year-old said.

"I didn't want to leave my room," the rapper said.

"It got really, really dark."

When his girlfriend, the US actress Megan Fox, flew to Bulgaria to shoot a film, he became paranoid and constantly thought that someone would come and kill him, says Baker.

He then called Fox and told her that he already had the barrel of the shotgun in his mouth.

He cocked the gun, but then the cartridge jammed.

At that moment he realized that he had to stop using drugs - also for Fox and his daughter Casie.

There is no information in the documentation on whether he was drugged during the incident.

In a corresponding excerpt from the film scene, which was published by the US portal »ET«, the artist apparently smokes a joint.

Declaration of love to partner Fox

Fox has become his "sun" since the difficult phase, the rapper enthuses in the documentary.

For him, the relationship with the 36-year-old is “like any fairy tale that they don’t tell you at school”.

"That's what helps me to write these songs."

Kelly had previously made his drug problems public.

Accordingly, the musician had problems with the drug Adderall in particular.

The drug is prescribed in the US for people with ADHD and contains amphetamines.

According to his own statements, he started therapy in 2020 to fight his addiction.
