(ANSA) - MILAN, JUN 28 - Months late due to the pandemic first and then to technical checks, NASA's Capstone mission was launched from New Zealand, with the first spacecraft destined to explore the orbit foreseen for the Lunar Gateway, the future space station that will act as a 'bridge' for astronauts traveling between Earth and the Moon as part of the Artemis program.
The pioneering satellite, the size of a microwave oven weighing 25 kilos, was launched with an Electron rocket from company Rocket Lab, on its first mission beyond Earth's low orbit.
